ON REPEAT: Gabriella Aplin

February 10, 2013

I am obsessed with this girl- she has the voice of an angel and her songs are so catchy and her lyrics are so beautiful and she is so pretty and so talented andddd... that is enough of my creepy obsession for now. But go listen to her, because she is amazing.

Other good songs (and awesome videos):
Please don't say you love me

Enjoy!!

Side note: Thoughts on the new layout? I spent hours last night coding my life away and I'm quite pleased with the results. Simple yet sophisticated. I would love your feedback!

Where can I find a little piano like that? If only I could clap and sing and dance all day...

ON REPEAT: I can't help myself

November 20, 2012

It's not even thanksgiving yet and this song has been playing on repeat all day. I blame Lennon and Maisy's amazing voices and the fact that they are pretty much the cutest kids ever. I know a lot of people hold off on Christmas tunes until at least thanksgiving, but I apply my same theory on chocolate to holiday music: why deprive yourself from something when it brings you so much happiness? So embrace the amazingness you are about to hear and be grateful I'm not posting this in July (which was when I may or may not have pulled out my Mariah Carey Christmas CD and went on a little holiday bender six months early...)

But really, can you blame me? It's also on itunes. You should go get it. Now.

ON REPEAT: I spy

November 12, 2012

Amazing song, but an even more amazing video. Black and white, slow motion mixed with real time, and some stellar dance moves... it's brilliant. Enjoy!

ON REPEAT: Ben Howard

August 17, 2012

I discovered so many amazing artists at Outside Lands this year and while I've been listening on and off to my OSL playlist, I can't stop listening to my newest favorite artist: Ben Howard. I'm a sucker for the BWG genre (Boys With Guitars), and Ben Howards's beautiful voice and ridiculously good melodies have been stuck in my head nonstop the past week. I think he's a mix of Ray Lamontage (my absolute favorite) and Bon Iver. Perfect for a rainy day, or country drive, or making dinner, or long commute to work. A song or artist will hook me if the music transports me to a different place and makes me day dream, and Ben does just that by making me picture myself in a little cabin in Washington or Vermont buried deep in a dripping forest on a rainy day.

ON REPEAT: Spotify Favorites

June 5, 2012

I recently got Spotify on my work computer and it has changed. my. life. I can get through a couple of hours of work without even realizing it because I'm so zoned in with awesome music. It's pretty much a mash-up of iTunes and Pandora- free music that you can put into a playlist. It's awesome, just plain awesome.  Plus it's so easy to find new amazing music, which is one of my all time favorite things to do. So, here are some of my favorites right now that have been on repeat the last two weeks:

+ Pillow Talk by wildchild
+ Brothers by tanlines
+ Rill Rill by sleigh bells
+ Marathon by tennis
+ Hold On by sbtrkt
